Borro Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Borro, a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects owners who want to rent out items with renters who need them. By using Borro, you agree to the following terms.

2. Our Role

  • Borro is a marketplace platform; we do not own, inspect, or manage any items listed by users.
  • All rental agreements are between owners and renters directly.

3. User Accounts

  • Users must be 15+ years old to create an account.
  • Users must provide accurate information, including ID verification.
  • Users are responsible for maintaining account security.

4. Listing and Renting Items

For Owners:

  • Owners must provide accurate descriptions and clear photos of items.
  • Owners set their own pricing and availability.
  • Owners are responsible for ensuring the item is in good condition before handover.

For Renters:

  • Renters must return the item on time and in the same condition.
  • Any damage or loss may result in additional fees.
  • Renters must respect the usage guidelines set by the owner.

5. Payments & Fees

  • Renters must pay the full rental amount upfront.
  • Owners receive payouts after the rental is completed, minus platform fees.
  • In case of disputes, funds may be held until resolution.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Owners and renters can cancel before the rental begins but may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

7. Item Handover & Return

  • Users must confirm the transaction via the app at handover and return.
  • Both parties must upload photos of the item at exchange to document its condition.

8. Dispute Resolution

  • Users should try to resolve disputes directly.
  • If needed, Borro support will mediate based on available evidence.
  • If an item is damaged or lost, compensation will be determined through the claims process.

9. Liability & Safety

  • Borro is not responsible for damages, accidents, or issues arising from rentals without Deposit Insurance.
  • Users assume all risks associated with renting and lending items.

10. Prohibited Activities

  • Users must not list illegal or prohibited items.
  • Provide false information.
  • Attempt to bypass the platform’s payment system.
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior.

11. Account Suspension

  • Borro reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in:
  • Violations of these terms.
  • Fraud, abuse, or multiple disputes.
  • Unsafe rental practices.

12. Changes to These Terms

Borro may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform means you accept any new changes.
